ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Mending Hearts Inc. is certified to provide all
services offered under the Supports for
Community Living (SCL) Waiver, which is part of
the Kentucky Medicaid Program.
SCL provides an alternative to institutional care
for individuals with mental retardation or
developmental disabilities.
In general, anyone who meets the requirements
for residence in an Intermediate Care Facility
(ICF) is eligible for SCL waiver services.

ABOUT OUR STAFF
The primary staff at Mending Hearts, Inc. has
many years of experience working with
individuals with developmental disabilities.
All employees, both administrative and direct
care, must complete state mandated, certified
training before working with individuals.
In addition to initial training, employees must
complete ongoing professional developmental
and other in-service training exercises to stay
abreast of changes in the field and provide
quality service to individuals and families.
All employees must complete basic training in
such areas as:
